In Savannah town, Georgia, Chatham County, there have been major negative effects of cigarette smoking for both active and passive smokers. These effects include addiction from nicotine in the cigarette. Cigarette smoking is the primary cause of lung cancer among other lung diseases. In the world, cigarettes are estimated to kill approximately six million people per year as a result of lung cancer or other respiratory diseases caused by cigarette smoking. By fighting for the reduction of cigarette smoking, it will decrease deaths hence reducing the mortality rate (Carter Jacobs et al. 2015). Cigarette smoking also makes the person involved to have a financial burden whereby the cost of buying cigarettes may be higher than their income level and their health is at risk. The shopkeepers and storekeepers are afraid of losing customers if they do not sell cigarettes. The fact the business makes profit from the sale of cigarettes among other commodities. For instance, a customer may come to the store to buy cigarettes and some chocolate.
